Yes, this fireplace can be hardwired during installation. We recommend having the electrical connection completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable local electrical codes.
What is the best way to hide the cord on this unit? Thanks
The best way to hide the cord will depend on the location of your electrical outlet relative to where the fireplace is mounted.
Common solutions include hardwiring the fireplace during installation or using a paintable cord cover (raceway) to conceal the power cord along the wall. If you are considering a hardwired installation, we recommend consulting a qualified electrician.

This Chesmont model is intended for wall mount installation. It cannot be recessed in the wall.

Is the mantel paintable?
It comes in both black and white semi gloss finish. You would need to prep the mantel properly in order to attempt a new paint finish.
