The Touchstone Fireplug™ Insert Smart Electric Fireplace is a freestanding firebox specifically designed to fit into existing traditional fireplace openings. 1. Can it be controlled with a smartphone?
Yes, this electric fireplace can be controlled with a smartphone. It is Wi-Fi enabled and can be connected to compatible smart home devices through the app for added convenience.
2. Can the flame effect be used without the heater?
Yes, the flame effect can be used without the heater, allowing you to enjoy the ambiance without added heat.
3. What safety features does it have?
The unit stays cool to the touch on the sides and back, even when the heat is on, and includes a built-in timer (30 min - 9 hrs.) and automatic safety shut off.
4. What is the heating capacity?
This fireplace includes a 1,500-watt heater that produces up to 5,000 BTUs of supplemental heat. Under ideal conditions, it can provide supplemental heat for spaces up to approximately 400 square feet.

6. Does this fireplace require venting?
No. This fireplace is vent-free and does not require a chimney, gas line, or external venting.

The Fireplug Pro power cord exits from the lower right side of the fireplace and measures 72 inches (6 feet) long.
Does the Fireplug Pro 33 have an Anti glare mesh screen?
No, the Fireplug Pro 33 is not available with an anti-glare mesh screen.
What can you use to seal the back to keep heat from coming in during the summer?
Electric fireplaces do not produce heat unless the heater is turned on, and they do not draw outside air like wood-burning or gas fireplaces.
Because of this, there is no need to seal the back to prevent heat from coming in during the summer.
I would like to insert a fireplace into a wood bookshelf. I want the floor fireplace to look real but have no heat that could possibly damage the surrounding wood. Which model fireplace would you suggest please. thank you
Our fireplaces can be installed in wood built-ins with proper clearances. If you want no heat at all, choose one of our no-heat models (our outdoor/indoor units don’t include a heater). For models that include a heater, the flame effect can be used without running the heat. For a specific recommendation, please contact our team with your opening dimensions (W × H × D) and a photo.
Our fireplace has an oval top
We don’t currently offer a curved/oval trim piece. Most customers with an oval or arched opening will fill any remaining gap with painted wood, metal, or other finish materials to create a clean, built-in look.
Question, I bought the 33" insert w. a 2" trim kit. Does that make the fireplace now 35" wide or 37" wide? info on trim kit not clear :)

With the 2" trim kit installed, the 33" insert measures 35" wide × 27" high. The minimum required depth for installation is 8 inches.
What is the length of the cord that needs to be plugged into outlet
The power cord is 6 ft (72") long. The unit also includes a standard plug and is hardwire-ready if you prefer that installation method.
